The Bocuse d’Or is a prestigious international gourmet cooking competition also known as the "Culinary Olympics".
The adventure brings out the human and technical qualities of the candidates.
The Bocuse d’Or celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2017. It brings together 24 candidates, selected from among the most promising chefs in their countries. They must make gourmet dishes during a "live" competition in front of the audience. The grand world final is organised every two years during the Sirha, at Eurexpo Lyon. The candidates are selected through a series of 60 national qualifying rounds, then 4 continental qualifying competitions. Twenty-four chefs from twenty-four countries go head to head for 5 hours and 35 minutes in front of an audience made up of the general public. The chefs must prepare an imposed main course and another dish while a compere ensures the atmosphere in the crowd is intense and electric.
An exceptional jury oversees and judges the work of the 400 chefs involved in this adventure.
